Love the cray kitno looks like real nice one whatever the sex.. hard shell and not in berry,  Iā€™d say.. delicious.
Personally would have gone on BBQ, split with on top garlic through crusher or even from a jar, salt and pepper,  lime or lemon juice, my favourite way to go, slightly seared.

Mussels from Coro, cooked Italian style by my wife with garlic bread, served with a glass of bubbles. Very nice.

Kingfish belly sashimi, served Korean style wrapped in leaves (some sort of herb) with raw garlic and chilli sauce. Was very nice.

MB - it is interesting to note the difference in colour of the YF I am eating at the moment (pic taken tonight). Yours is mch darker.
Mine was not huge - a 20kg specimen, but mature enough you would think. I am wondering if diet is the difference here? Anyone have a clue?

You guys are eating well. Great to see.

No pics for me I forgot, Just sashimi albie.
First day hunting so light at the moment.

Alan,
I think it's a combo.
Food source, age, and condition.

I'll let you know more as I'm off to hunt yet tomorrow.
Yahoo, finally hunting again.

On the topic of sashimi - wasabi. There is only one wasabi to have really. Copperfield.
You may have to google it to find a local source. there are 2 in Hawkes bay. Worth the hunt.
That green stuff should not be called wasabi - but it is all I can get right now.
When you get good sashimi fish and Copperfield wasabi you will know the difference - night and day.
On that note I dropped two Dogtooth this arvo. My bad. Gutted.
If you want sashimi - you cannot go past dogtooth. YF is a distant second I am sorry to report.
Dogtooth and Copperfield wasabi - on a different level.
feeling a bit p...d off and glum with myself right now.

Alan , you will have to do a chilled 24 hour airfreight for me to test.

Never eaten dog sashimi only seared..
I feel very underprivileged.
Maybe I can get a subsidy to airfreight it.

Or a flight to pick it up.
So many options.
