Yep, it is an interesting form of media and with so many 'backyard' producers out there (sorry
) it is fascinating to watch how everybody attacks it. I have never been much of a fishing Youtube watcher, but now I'm watching more and more just to see the different styles of production and presentation.
Nearly all of them I rapidly flip through. The content of the production is perhaps measured by how long I actually spend watching it. Very few do I watch entirely. Many that take too long to get into it I turn off completely. The last one was a bloody sunrise over an Australian bass lake... don't have enough time for that. I'm sure the sunrise was very nice, but viewed on a device... maybe not.
Andrew Burden is doing great stuff with his Flytackle NZ Facebook downloads- short, rapid and witty with a bit of technical info thrown in. It suits my limited attention span.
Lots of others out there that I could mention, but I'd probably be critical of most of them. Latest one was Jighead TV from Dubai. Not fly fishing, but light tackle in a heavily populated urban environment... fishing that interests me. Unfortunately the guy buggers about too much for my liking, I've learnt to start his videos half way through.
So yeah, you're totally up against it Johan when there are so many armchair critics like me about, but I'm looking forward to the next one. I'll be very interested to see what you come up with next.
