Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there has done any Carp fishing and if so, where is a good spot for big ones?

I am keen to do some Carp fishing again; I realise they are a pest in NZ and so one has to kill them, if caught is that correct?

I'm imagining that either in the Waikato River or one of the Waikato lakes may be a good spot.

Keen to get info from others, thanks so much!

PS - If I find some good spots I'll share it on here.
My wife says she'll leave me if I go fishing again - HELL, I"LL MISS HER!

Waikato , the streams into it .. they are everywhere.
Local guys walk the streams with a bow and arrow or even a 22 if at the surface or  shot gun.
 Throw a bit of burley.. sweet corn mix and on a hook and you are good to go.
 They are a rather scatty fish so nice quiet approach.

Been intending to head up the river one day in the boat and drift back down see what can hook up.
