Finally bit the bullet and got a Minn Kota for the boat. Looking forward to some great days over summer.

The minn Kota on my boat has been the very best fishing aid that we have.

If you do deep drops where anchoring is impossible point the nose away from the direction of the drift, lock in the direction and set the speed slow so in effect you are going backwards ... slowly.

Looking forward to it Joker. No more backing up into a metre of slop, working the throttle like a one armed paper hanger!

They are great, I love mine.
Just have to buy a new boat to fit it too.

I should probably talk to supermodel whose gone crazy buying boats lately.

You'll love it.

The shallows and stalking still my favourite that is behind solo launching, sending it off, putting it on hold, park the trailer and bring it in to pick me up.

That's cool too.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

Joker hit the nail on the head. Everyone raves about the spot lock which is cool, but to me the ability to control the drift speed is awesome especially when jigging.
