If your stupid enough to poach in my area you will be nailed.

Yet again I have the pleasure to nail a poacher.

This commercial bloke had adequate warnings.

And yet his approach fo fisheries offeicers and more importantly us,that fish this enviroment, was to give the finger.

We know he is not part of the new gps tracking formula.

Like most I believe in second chances within reason.
He's ignored fisheries advise and warnings.

So he will suffer whatever the consequences are from fisheries.

Bad choices are on those who make them.

Smudge and others.

Not sure it's appropriate to share details of that kind in a public forum.

What I will say is that it was a commercial operation.
It has been on notice since by last ping.

With warnings direct by fisheries the consequences jump.

It's appropriate for all of to dismeanour once, maybe.

But blatantly twice, I suppose you have your reasons why you would.

The nets were extracted at 4am, no lights but maybe the message was fn clear this time, no setting of nets today.

Blatantly only in a commercial zone I can only see 100th of.

What may be going on in other zones.

I can tell you that in 15 years of poaching within an area of 2sqm that I view I have been the only one of tens of thousands of eyes that do so, reflective of our community's commitment about this.

Shows the non interest from the majority of eyes.
Dissapointing I would say.

Very much reflective of our society, hence the guy collecting rubbish around the country.
Pointless really with the drastic change of culture through immigration and the lack of respect built in our communities through schools and government edicts.

Still, I will stay old school.
If it's wrong your a crim, you disrespect my home.

I'll be on your a r s e till the cows come home.

Must admit it seems a losing battle.

Don't see a good future for this country and it's culture.

That was along dissatisfied answer.

Hats off to you MATTOO. I'm the same. Any b.....d who poaches in Tauranga Harbour is also on notice. I take it very personal and look on them as people who are not only stealing from the public resource but from future generations. Absolute scum of the earth. We can all do our bit to get these b......s. Cheers
On the fly or not interested.

With you guys. Took a long time to get Fisheries to take us seriously. "How do you know the sack on their back is not full of kina?". ie we don't want to come all the way down to you for nothing. Well, we dive there too - no kina. Finally a few yrs ago they took us seriously - had a public meeting over it - Police/fisheries/locals. We have nailed plenty. Now the fisheries come. 90% strike rate. Guess what - last couple of years - only had to call them 2-3 times. Don't give up matoo. your country needs you :-)

Good on you Mattoo. It doesn't matter what you do or how you do it, it's all about doing what you believe is right. You have done that which is more than many many others would do.If you're not happy sharing details I respect that too. Bottom line is you have done something, whereas most - particularly on social media and in smoko rooms around the country - have done f*** all.  Hug

Kind words from you all.

I don't do it for praise as I'm a boomer.

Someone who believes in getting stuff done.

Sadly a lost art of respect from our generations behind us.

Not being a boomer myself, I’m a bit over the next gen thing, it’s more how you were raised by your parents than anything. I firmly believe in hard work and not stuffing about, because my father taught me never to be afraid of working hard.
My ten year old boy has already shown that hard physical work is very rewarding and has many benefits... please don’t knock all of the new generation coming thru, as they copy the generation before...’ so the generations coming thru now are simply a reflection of the one before....
Not having a crack just saying...

Puff, you and any generation are fine.

It's a personal responsibility thing.

For me I have experienced all types from my generation till now.

I think I find more of each.
More muppets and more outstanding individuals.

I'd like less muppets.

And more of some of the clearly outstanding young people I come across.

But smart or lazy or driven.
The bull**** the young engage in for all demographics is just mind bendingly anal.

Love tech, but really it's a tool not a life.
Not a guidance for life but a tool of understanding not a bible.

Good on you Mattoo and it pisses me off when I see/hear people taking more than their limits or poaching. Rubbish around our countryside is something that seems to be getting worse by the year too and really pisses me off. I picked up two boxes of rubbish from a roadside access point at National PArk trout fishing a few weeks back. The amount of **** dumped is sad and NZs slogan of being clean and green and 100% pure is fraud at it's best.
