So much rain & wind ... with more predicted.

With only three days to go just how much more is the all important
question.

Would imagine most rivers other than spring fed will be running high & coloured but 3 days of little or no rain hopefully see them fishable.

Being something of an optimist, myself & mate are at this stage
planning to be riverside at daybreak Tuesday morning however also being realists the final decision will be made on Mon night depending on the conditions.

What do others here think ?

Not in wellies Bazza, been stunning and the rivers are all looking fantastic! Typical spring patterns really, why I've been hitting the lowland Wairarapa with streamers and cleaning up on the sea runners! So much fun... in fact 7 hours and back into 'em! I'd post pics, but it's just too damn tedious and slow on this forum, so search my name on Facebook and you'll find 'em!

Sea run browns Andrew.?
Have caught sea run rainbow in S.I ,but no one believes that, they say there is no such thing.

As for welly weather. Overall its not too bad imo. The north can be much wetter and at times windier.

Good to hear from you Andrew as have missed your posts & in particular those incredible spell binding videos.

Your appraisal of the conditions you are experiencing currently are encouraging, but somewhat less so when the realisation hits home that it is coming from a guy who could pull a 10 pounder out of a roadside puddle.

Much appreciated all the same.

Must say I totally agree with you re posting pics on this forum ... seems to work ok for some but like yourself I have given up trying, so sorry won't be able to share my photo of the 25 lber I intend catching on Tues.

On Saturday a new home theatre set arrived and started removal, then replacement .
Finished by Tuesday lunchtime,
My favourite stream was well up, according to Environment Waikato website.
I've extrapolated the graph and Friday id looking better.
A fast flowing stream, even one foot higher than my optimum wading level is a challenge to a 70+ guy. I only nymph and dry. Maybe I should think about wet fly??
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken
