I just realised there was not text to go with the pics. Billy ho and I were fishing in B.C. salmon and halibut at queen Charlotte lodge, awesome place, and then up in NE B.C. at the Northern Rockies Lodge, where we flew in to remote lakes chasing freshwater species. If anything even awesomer.
The one fish I really really REALLY wanted, and have done so for 3 decades, is to get an arctic grayling. Thay is the little trout number with the huge dorsal fin. Totally stoked to have got not one but about 20.
Also got lake trout, walleye, northern pike there.
Just such an awesome place to be sitting by a perfect little RIP on the shore of a lake where the nearest humans apart from our little crew were 100 miles away over mountain passes....frikken paradise man.
None of it cheap, but as a bucket list trip....man, I loved it.
Did not love having a massive reaction to the flu shot I had 2 days before I flew out, which after about 5 days wound up with me having pneumonia. Next person says flu shots are harmless will get a swift kick in the nuts from me!
I loved both trips and places so much I am gonna go back next year , for a fee days longer at each place, now I have a handle on what to do and what is needed there.
Cannot recommend strongly enough both operations and if anyone wants a real bucket list type trip to fish way up there, just do it. You will never regret it.
It is only my overwhelming natural humility that mars my perfection.
