Launched out of Opua at 6am for a day of marlin fishing. We had heard there is a spot in BOI that has been performing well with plenty of marlin sighted.

At midday we had a fish attempt to take the bait but it fell off. On the radio, we heard of 2 other boats report 3-4 free jumping marlin.

We started heading back in at 5pm but stopped off for a quick fish over a reefy area in 15-20m of water to use up our jack mac livebaits.
I plucked out this skinny but feisty kingfish on my second drop.
