Hi Guys,
Due to there being no Salt Fly Hook Up this year the Strip Strike club is running a weekend event at Bowentown this year - Salt Fly Fest 2019 which is being run along the same lines as

Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th May 2019

Everyone is most welcome to attend - should be a very laid back relaxing weekend, low tide is 1230 so hence it being on opening weekend

More details here:

The Strip Strike Fly Fishing Club in conjunction with Rod and Reel Tackle ltd proudly present to you the 2019 Salt Fly Fest.

It should be another great laid back weekend to catch up with friends, with fly casting and tying tuition, saltwater fly fishing advice and local knowledge, presentations from guest speakers, fly fishing on the flats of the northern end of the Tauranga Habour, Saturday night meal and events at the Bowentown Boating and Sport Fishing Club - They have a courtesy van for those needing it on Saturday night.

The cost this year is $40:00 per person attending
Please deposit funds to:

Strip Strike
ASB
12-3629-0320101-00

Please use your full name as reference

This includes fully paid smorgasbord dinner at The Boat Club Restaurant on Saturday night 4th May and other expenses.

Accommodation this year will be Bowentown Beach Holiday Park, 510 Seaforth Road, Bowentown - please contact them via phone asap to make sure to get the room/unit that you want - they have booked the whole place for us for 2 or 3 weeks and then open up bookings to the general public so their website will show no vacancies to give everyone attending a chance to get accommodation - Phone 07 863 5381 - just mention that you are part of the event. There are motel units, cabins tent sites and caravan sites.

Emphasis this year will be on all species including kahawai, snapper, kingfish, trevely and light tackle too. There will be tackle from most of the major brands to test and try and friendly competitions too with prizes.

Hopefully the fishing should be great too with a 1230pm low tide for Saturday allowing easy access to wade the channels. Those with boats can launch just down the road at the Bowentown Boating and Sport Fishing club's boat ramp - cost is $6:00 to launch and retrieve each time so have some gold coins handy - car and trailer should be safe there otherwise there is a free boatramp at the end of the road.

Don't forget to bring your neoprenes and warm gear/wet weather gear as the weather can be a tad cooler but if the last few opening weekends are anything to go by then we are in for some good weather - also if you have it light fly fishing gear #3 upwards could be real fun with the kahawai around this time of the year.

More details to follow so stay tuned

Everyone is most welcome and please feel free to spread the word around.

Hi,
just a reminder that those who are thinking of attending the Strip Strike Salt Fly Fest 2019 and haven't already booked their accommodation should think about doing so as soon as possible as the Bowentown Beach Holiday Park need to get things sorted so that they can open up bookings to the general public with whats left over from us soon.

Please phone them to make a booking on 07 863 5381 - just mention that you are part of the event. There are a few motel units, cabins tent sites and caravan sites still available.

Also if you are coming but haven't as yet paid the registration fee can you also do that as soon as possible too so that we can give the caterers at the Bowentown Boat Club an idea of how many to cater for.

It will cost $40.00 - in that price is a fully paid smorgasbord meal on the Saturday night at the club - the bar will be open for us too.

Please deposit funds to:

Strip Strike

Please use your full name as reference

Certainly look forward to seeing everyone at the event.

Hi guys

Who's planning on attending this.

I can't make Saturday unfortunately but am tempted to try and come down for the Sunday and put some faces to names.

Cheers
