Ok here's a deal team.

I don't have either so a mates offered the following to the good blokes at fishing.net.  (Although i did say there are none)

They are after one maybe two boats for this which is to test a new rope to the market.

Do you have a QUICK or LOFRAN auto rope to chain anchor winch ?
Conditions
Must be no older than 3 years ideally 2 or less.
Must be running 6mm or 7mm chain.
Must be able to convince them you use the boat often.

If you have what they need they we will give you an entire new anchor rode, which will include the top end Maggi AQUA4 Italian made chain, you go use it hard and report back what you find. If all works as expected you can keep the rode, there no point if it doesn't. All pretty simple really.

Have both but 10 years old. Just put a new gearbox on the Quick. Lofrans has been bulletproof with just basic servicing.Quick has been apart a few times and had a few bits replaced. Also have or had Muir, Maxwell, Nilsson and probably a couple I have forgotten.

Running a Quick Genius 600F but it's 10 years old, although I did put a new 6mm gypsy on it 5 years ago. Boat sees a fair bit of fishing, but not so much anchoring nowadays - sometimes just once a trip when cleaning the catch Big smile

Must be someone out there better aligned with your mates' requirements - have you tried a post on FB NZ Fishing Community ?

Your other anchor winch sounds a lot like my old man's anchor winch. It's usually relatively effective, handles all different kinds of rope and chain, will even pull in the berley pot, but jeez it starts to grumble and overheat a bit when you miss the spot you wanted to anchor on in 40m the third time over LOLLOL

As the usually designated winch for Scalloping set lining, berley and anchor,, I can attest to the overheating issue.
