Dan and I venture into a lower North Island back country river in search of "spotted gold" and were not disappointed with what we found. Some great conditioned browns up to 6.5lb on dry fly and nymph in simply stunning surroundings.

A huge day in extremely tough terrain, this is just some of the action we encountered "when time stands still"...

FishB8, using #12 wullfs and #16 tungsten black-bead pheasant tails, fairly standard back country fare for me.

Absolutely, no point complicating things with "bling" just for the sake of it!
