So I just bought this boat from former owner in Taupo (I'm in Auckland). The GPS (Lowrance LMS 337c) doesn't display place names or depths...does anyone know how to fix this?

Also, the VHF is installed in such a way that I cant access the plug socket. Any suggestions on how I could use it?

Any useful suggestions much appreciated.

It looks like the GPS doesn't have any charts in it, just the default base maps that come in the unit.  Open the little door at the bottom right and see if there is a card in the slot.

As for vhf and plug.
Pull Radio out. Then Socket Plug out. Use a hole saw (Looks like 3/4inch) a little further across. Keep the disk from the hole saw. Then reuse disk in the old hole and tape it in place from the front. Put a couple of pieces of glass across it behind the dash. Once that has gone off. Remove tape from front and mix some gelcoat and white filler and bog up as reqd.
Burnsco have some plugs with USB chargers that look pretty good. About to put one in my boat for iPhones etc.
Here fishy, fishy fishy.... Nom, nom, nom

Could be the photos but the VHF looks wider at the bottom than the top.

Gefilte. that is the best way to get the kids of their devices when out fishing.
Put the charger socket in a place where it cannot be used.
Then the kids need to concentrate on their fishing....Big smile
