Have been waiting for yonks for the weather to settle & finally forecast showing some promise for a couple of days in the coming week so am going out Mon 14th & also either Thurs or Fri.

Mondays spot has been taken by Rainger but Thurs or Fri weather permitting both looking OK for the Kaipara or out by Tiri.

After crap weather for what seems like for yonks finally a very welcome window of opportunity presents itself for tomorrow
( Wed ) with the forecast predicting more rain & easterly winds from Thursday on.

With a sunny day forecast along with sub 10 knt SW / N it is too good to miss so have wheeled the boat out in preparation of a early start to make the most of the 7 am tide change.

Would have liked to go out on the Kaipara but inclined to think it could be affected by the recent excesses of rainwater flowing in so have opted for launching at Gulf Harbour.

Anyone keen to join in ?

Anyone keen for a full on trip on the Kaipara on Tues. ( must be reliable re turning up etc. ! )

All going to plan will involve setting a flounder net, gathering oysters, fishing of course & scallop dredging.

To fit in proposed schedule, tides dictate a dawn launch.

Forecast at this stage looks promising, but given how changeable conditions have been of late, trip will as always be weather dependent.

Weather forecast for Tues has taken a turn for the worse however Thurs looking ultra good but Phil who was coming out Tues can not make it Thurs.

Thurs =

Tides more suitable so not such an early start required.
Tides on the low side meaning less debris in the flounder net.
Tide times good for getting oysters & dredging scallops also might try setting a pot for mantis shrimps.
Weather forecast predicting 8 knts max.

So all looking good ..... anyone keen ?
