Hi all

I just got myself a beastmaster traveling rod from a German website. Its a pretty nice rod but I've found one problem with it. One section fits too tightly with another and I end up having to ask my brother to help pull it apart. If I'm fishing by myself I wont be able to pull it apart alone.

Should I sand this bit down or am I better off trying to contact Shimano and see if they can fix it for me? What about a local fishing store?

ID try rubbing a candle onto the spigot side first.  Common issue with flyrods that are typically multi piece. Just adds a bit of lubrication to the joint.

Or rub the spigot side on the side of your noise.  I know this sounds mad, but the greases that your face make, make an ideal lubricant that you carry with you everywhere.

If that don't work then maybe look into the sanding option, but use very fine wet and dray and go very slowly.  Take of too much and its hard to fix.

Trick I have used before is inner bike tube, gives good grip to pull apart
I had a rod hadn't been able to get apart no matter what I tried and was told to use inner tube and it came apart like it wasn't even stuck

Graphite powder, or, along the same lines as the nose thing, rub it thru your hair (if you have any, I'm running out myself)
