Hi Pirate
Thinking of heading down again for Friday and Saturday but swell map forcast is all over the place. Please give me your experienced opinion weather it is fishable or not Cheers Glenn.

Small craft advisory on fish track but last few days haven't been that accurate,
Probably a case of just doing it and see what happens.
In saying that you probably wouldn't want to be out there in a open top dinghy and a rain coat this weekend.

Hi Salty, swellmap is a myth these days (since it was bought out by a us company cupla years ago), used to be real accurate back in the day but now i don,t know why anyone bothers with it to tell the truth. try 'windguru' and click on npl or oakura.. buoyweather is still a solid site i use and metvuw (not metview). This wed/thurs is a screaming north/north east system with 3-4mtr swell and a bit of precipitation. thurs maybe do-able in the arvo but will have hell of a residue chop. id say fri the day and saturday, then it craps out sun. Never know it could change hopefully for the better. looks like at this stage next tues/wed/thurs could be sweet. pm me if u want an update on weather later in week

We got into the Mahi Mahi in big numbers in about 70 Meters off the chimney last night. Schools over over  hundred of them jumping out of the water chasing Saury. Heard Blackwatch Tag a stripey in 80ish meters. Some big albies about chasing the marlin lures.
Cut up something wicked about 7.30 and was a tough ride home (Raincoats Required) in the little frewza!

Biggest one was 5kg - we dropped a couple around this size maybe a fraction bigger.

First time angler so we weighed it and sunk a lot of piss for the rest of the day!

Got my first marlin this afternoon, solo in a 14 foot stabi, 85m of the oil rig, was just thinking of heading in, as wind had picked up about 12:00, and a hit, on the lumo sprocket
100kg, took a bit long, to get him in alone, and wouldn't recover,
chatter on the radio was a few others tagged and caught.
 great day.

Congratulations that is exceptional to get your first one solo in a 14ft tinny.
Wouldn't have been easy getting it aboard I imagine.

Great day on the water today. Tagged 2 fish on bucket list.
Estimated 95 kg and 130 kg.
Bonze light gauge set up.
Both pulled 500 mtrs string so chased them hard.
The new talica 50 made light work of one.
Hopefully they stick around for few more weeks!
