Hmm Veritas is nice but the action is very quick on them for fishing 1kg mono. The one I have used for super light work was built by Kieron at Reel Rods, would suggest giving them a bell to see what they can do

I'm not up to speed with mono having not used it for 10 years or so.
What about the 2 to 5 kg veritas

2-5kg Veritas would be worse unfortunately, you need a very soft tip for that sort of work, and also remembering that IFGA 1kg or 2kg mono will generally break well below 2lb braid. With that sort of specialised work, getting a rod specifically for that purpose is well worth it.

I know what you mean about mono, I only ever use it during the occasional game fishing comps we do, other than that its 99% lure fishing with braid

Cheers for the info guys. Will contact Norcross now. If they have already sold it I will contact Kieron.

We have found getting the correct rod for this light stuff is vital. Especially when trolling for skippies on 1kg. You need a very soft rod to survive the strike.
