Finally got out to Waitawa reginal park(Kawakawa Bay)it is the former site of ICI and what a marvellous spot.Went for a walk and disappointing no access to boat ramp.Plenty of people fishing off the wharf which has been upgraded complete with bait boards.Mpi fishing stickers on wharf but do not show or say size of species for sna1,need to text but that in it self is a problem depending on where you stand on wharf for service.

interesting being on top and looking down to bay at rocks and sandbars, rocks have lost their marker but sandbar still has its.

this is neat bay when it blows sw to nw good holding but subject to roll on out going tide.(waitawa bay)

as this was a area for storing explosives we came across this bunker half way up the hill.apparently test bunker

Overal a well set up park from horse riding tracks to bmx type tracks but would place caution on leaving vehicle down at magzine bay  as cannot be seen from wharf.

Number 1 and I ventured out this morning thinking no wind/rain weekday we will be alone, wrong.
6 Cars 12 people and 42 rods scattered around the wharf, bugger oh well here now, surely we can squeeze in here.Asked if we could make some room but guessing English wasnt to be the language today.
Stayed 2 hrs to witness 1 kahawai landed. So left .

Go off the rocks to the left. I fish there often when the wharf is full.
