Shows a lack of respect for sure. Killing fish is part of commercial fishing, but why try glorify it. A knife behind the head would have been much more humane.
Makos are worth money so it would have been kept, hence the need to stun it. Theyre a lot more dangerous than blues so they dont take any chances. But yeah they are dicks.

The footage is now on stuff news now and is causing an outrage. Makes it clear it was a commercial fisherman. Not a good look for the industry.

Probably finned it and chucked the rest overboard. Wouldn't surprise me . Wicked fish the makos. First and only shark encounter I've had freediving was a mako ,while shooting kings out by kawau . Thankfully only a juvenile Bout 4 foot. Beautiful fluorescent blue and very fast. Some people just wanna kill anything and everything . Raping it

Anyone got a job opportunity for a commercial fisherman?
Previous experience in being a prize dick!

"A commercial fisherman who posted a video online of himself killing a shark with a block of wood has been sacked for his actions.

Whangarei man Jason Reece posted the video on the Facebook page of ITM Fishing Show"
