Hey everyone, I was just wondering has anyone stayed here before? And if so has anyone had the chance to get dropped off at one of the islands? I'm going there on Sunday and we have booked a drop off.

Any advice? Is it a good time of year for this?

Have stayed there and used the island drop off - all good, well recommended.

Time of the year? Pass.

As you're stuck at the drop off island for the day don't forget anything - double and triple check everything before you leave.

Well set up place to stay. Haven't used the island drop off service, but have used their boat launch service and it made things very easy.

Have been dropped off at the islands by the Papa Aroha camp water taxi and that was easy too. Had a great day on the bricks. Think I took home 8 snapper, couple of kahawai and a JD. Can't remember which month that was though.
What's the cheapest type of meat? Dear balls. They're under a buck.

Have stayed many times, top spot.
Great service with launching the boat or being dropped off on the rocks.
Had many a BBQ & beers outside in the common BBQ area, very cool place.
Regards to the fishing I have always done well apart from Xmas time, very busy at that time of year & to be honest I don't bother any more, to many Xmas crazies running around.
The Black Rocks from half tide down to half tide up are excellent fishing, thats if they will drop You off on them, had a few 20lb plus fish from there & Christmas Island has a couple of nice ledges to fish from, always good for a King.
If fishing of the rocks remember to take lots of bait & berly, its a must.
Warm cloths as well as it can turn cold real quick out there.
Good luck & look forward to Your report.

PS.......dont forget to feed the Eels your tit bits.

Yes, all good on the right tide & wind.
Talk to the locals if You can or call into TopCatch & get the latest reports.
Maybe PM Bush Billy, hes a legend around Coro, He might be able or willing to put You onto the top spot.

We went there yesterday and fished the southern end of happy jacks, looks like an awesome spot, real deep water.

The snapper fishing was real good we caught about ten and kept about 6 nice eating size ones, nothing real big but it looked like a 20lb spot.

We brought a tonne of burley with us , but there weren't many bait fish around, but we eventually managed one Khawai for a livey with no takers, didn't see any kingfish though,   will definitely go again.

We have used Papa Aroah over 30 times for island drop offs. Always fished "Middle King" or "North King". Middle King i have managed snapper around 10-15lb and hooked a horse king but broke off. Always got a good feed.

I like North King better tho. Dont fish the corner with the rod holders. Fish the corner looking back to Papa Aroha where the little rock pops up at low tide (boats have hit it at times).

Northern King is a good spot. If you are targeting kingies then the corner with the rod holder is better, however if the wind gets up then fish off the back end.

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.
