Im knot impressed at all.. Sorry.
1/ It is basically a plastic replacement for your hand and fingers to hold...only you now use your hand and fingers to still turn the tag and hold the plastic bit.
2/ Lot more messing around to set up... rather than just pull the mainline off the rod and twist...
3/ Which leads to not being able to pull every figure 8 turn up tight using good tension off the rod.
It is VERY important on braid knots that each turn, knot is pulled up HARD before proceeding
4/ Bulky for any tackle box, and would be very easy to break .
Not being able to pull up each turn and knot hard as you proceed will cause the FG (most braid knots) to fail when hit that bigger fish.. And loose your potential PB.
The only knot tool have ever been impressed with is those that tie 'knotless' snell type hooks....which a bit of hollow stiff tube ,and for smaller hooks a hollow cotton bud stem will do the same job.
Also around the 4min mark he is doing the finishing knots, loops thru the 1/2 hitches like a surgens.. not how carefully he feeds the lines as pulls up... if do so in the shed, sometimes it pulls up due to unseen twists, into a bunch, negating the purpose of a low profile knot.
In practice in the boat/ field it will bunch up.
2 turns yes 3 pushing.
The finish knots, as also with bimmini are just that, Get the 1st 1/2 hitch on the tag in place the knot is done. The rest of the 1/2 hitches are just their to stop tags pull thru and give a nice 'ramp' to pass thru the guides.
