Hi Kerren,
You will of course be bringing the Baby Squid along to the MSFC meeting next week for us all to have a squizz won't you?
obald
Thought it might have been you that was on to it, to "catch" on to the potential of Steve's jigs...what other goodies did ya purchase mate?....spill the beans and can you bring whatever it is down to the next club date!
Hi Steve
What's your reasoning for avoiding aluminium crimps. All the tuna I've ever caught have had ally crimps. Should I be catching more? Is this true for all tuna types?
I don't think crimp visibility at the lure end is an issue with standard skirted lures as the crimp at hook end is tucked behind the lure head or inside the skirt. At the other end ... it should be well infront of the lure or even out of the water (rigger lift) that's one argument for a long "ish" leader , although if fishing `Only tuna with reasonably heavy gear enough to pull them to boatside without undue drama you can gaff without having to wire a short leader and this can be an advantage.
Steve what are your thoughts on hooksize affecting the bite rate on lures?
cheers dustin
