And with that please delete my account. Im ashamed to be in a group of socialist sympathizers. All for a disease that has a fatality rate of less than 5%. Good bye and good luck.

Your wish is my command Jason. Sorry to lose you, but I think you will find most of us aren't the socialist sympathisers you think we are.

Pretty sure you have my number if you wish to be reinstated. I'm guessing you probably even know where I live. I'm a VERY tolerant guy but I'm only doing as you ask. If you wish to be reinstated, get in touch and I'm sure we can work something out. No hard feelings and I mean that.

to-da-loo Jas & good luck.

I'm hoping that anyone I am in close contact will have seen the wisdom  of thinking beyond their own requirements & will have had the inoculation.
Life will go on but the casualties of this here wee situation will depend largely on  the numerical sensibility.

I've given fishfeeder2 a week in the bin. He asked to have his account deleted. He's been around a long time and I'm hoping he will reconsider. If not, I wish him well. No I didn't vote left. No, I'm not strongly right. Yes I am doing my job. Welcome back ff2 if you can convince me.

What if a bar/cafe introduced a rule no vaccine no entry. Would they be breaking any laws in NZ
I have laminated my card that shows dates of vaccine.
Would it be any different to the Standard of dress code?

Amazing to see how often people use the term 'socialism' these days without the slightest comprehension of what it means.

Man I think iv posted more than enough times on this site too air my dislike for this current government and what they are doing to this country.
I certainly didn't intend to upset FF2.... Im certainly not going to enter a debate about someones personal choices.
I have my view , they have there's and I respect that.
Im simply asking what else are we supposed to do?
Its one think to harp on about  rights being stripped, new world order etc etc.
But right here, right now, the vaccine is the only bloody option we seem to have.....
As for being a socialist sympathiser.....??   er no. Just towing the line for those who choose not to.
Your welcome.

You are not responsible for FF2's decision Schampy. I've been around long enough to understand the dynamics of social media

I don’t know why people get so strung up.

As for the socialist government.
They are not elected into “power” they are here to serve us not the other way around. But somehow this feels the other way round.

Last year’s lockdown, fair enough we did not know much about it, we had no vaccine.
This year not so much. This lockdown is snatching defeat from the jaws of the victory.
Over 6 billion vaccines administered around the world we should have been done already.
My wife was done by mid March. I thought that it was going to roll out from there, but I was hearing what was going on. Not from my wife!
On that simple fact it’s a fail. It was called the “year of the vaccine” .

Muppet, you're clearly a much more political animal than me. Keep up the good work.

Not sure. The bigger question is the very poor quality evidence of vaccination, a flimsy bit of card that would be easy to forge.

My view is obviously pro vaccination but I don’t support forcing anyone to do what they don’t want to. We don’t ban smoking for instance when it is clearly harmful for the individual and any other person nearby them. There is a lot of talk about Māori and their risk of COVID but little talk of the elevated smoking rates of Māori in general and Māori women in particular. That is doing definite, specific harm every day.

On the other hand society is a club that you are invited to join or have a birth right into. We try and do what is in the best collective interest. At times that gets in the way of individual freedoms. We must give up some of these to avoid anarchy. Remember our government has in the past forced young men to go to war and die. Being encouraged to get a  vaccine seems pretty mild compared to that.

Still make your choice. What I didn’t support is restricting the freedoms of the many because of the choices of a few.

There has been anarchy in the past for far less reasonable motivations.

You are so right about the last point and what makes the PMs ducking and diving on answering that question so galling.
The goalposts will keep shifting because of their counting method.

What did you guys think of it?
Personally I don’t think his best case scenario is likely nor his worse.
Add in the huge provision right at the start making the whole exercise pretty pointless.
Apart from a deliberate attempt at yet more fear mongering.

Bit of a lame attempt to instil a bit of fear and get some more people jabbed I guess. If it works all good, but you would have to assume that most people can see through it. Whatever it takes, but I think a better approach would be to give us a date at which point there will be no further L4’s. There is so much availability to get a jab, if some people can’t get off their arse what can you do.
Oh what a smasher - two eggs and a rasher!

Personally I think Whipper has a pretty balanced view of things. If we didn't have rules we would have anarchy. I'm pretty sure every single legal requirement has its detractors that think it is a silly law. Some for no other reason because 'their' political party didn't introduce, some because they don't want any laws or rules and some because it is just a silly rule anyway - at least in their opinion.

As for Shaun Hendy's modelling? I think it's the work and opinion of a professor. I'm not saying if I agree with it and I'm not saying I don't but I am saying I doubt it was done as a political influencer.

I think it was political Smudge.

Apparently it was not even peer reviewed and has been widely slated.
