The visibility and conditions in general was good at Kaikoura saturday/sunday. Had to choice the correct spot because in sheltered bays the poor vis lingered on a bit.

I went out Lyttelton Heads way on Sunday morning.... vis around 2ish metres, with a bit of a chop around as well... saw plenty of butters but they all disappeared into the murkiness before I could get any shots off....

Disappointing, but hot and sunny day so all good.

Nice one for the report Wetfish - was that in a boat or from the shore?  Was thinking of flat rock off Taylors tomorrow eve.  Bit of a hike, but could be good conditions.  Anyone dived around there recently?

Copy paste from the Summer Series thread - Kaiks summer series this weekend! I will be driving up from Christchurch after work on Friday. Anyone want to grab a ride and share the gas?.... or, anyone with a spare seat and wants someone to fill a seat and split their gas? As for accommodation I'm planning on a freedom camping mish as that seems to be popular at the mo.

It was from a boat...i went boulder couple weeks back (from a boat) and got nice butter... first fish ever!!!... vis was better than this weekend. i been watching taylorssurf.co.nz...  looks clear but has been bit of a wind swell the last two days.

Butterfish..close to 40cm and FAT & TASTY... best thing about it, it was a passing shot with a few nerves bubbling inside, and i nailed it straight thru the spine behind the head. Instant Kill! Smile

A boy. 5lb 9 so hes only  a wee guy. But most importantly hes got big swimming feet Big smile
 
Yeah the heat has been crazy. I really didnt like the waiting game. At least you wont have to wait to much longer Smile
