Speared by mistake during shore dive in the Coromandel area, near hot water beach, I was targeting a leather jacket but I got this behind, wondering what's the name and if eadible

I have just moved this from the Spearos Corner forum. I've never seen an actual marblefish but that is what it looks like to me after seeing pictures of them over the last 100 years. I have seen a load of hiwihiwi and reasonably sure this isn't one but stand to be corrected.

Looks something like a fish I used to catch at Tuvalu. Don't know what they were called. Looked like a over grown version of a rock cod. Wife says they taste like snapper.
