Anyone fished cairns in July, haven't made my mind up but air nz have cheap fares, quick look on the net suggests GT,s might not be on offer?

I'll be in Cairns in July as well (Air NZ direct flight from Auckland). Haven't looked in to fishing options yet, but following the thread.

I couldn't recommend any charters sorry, I had a boat up there.

If targeting GTs mostly likely you will be flicking stick baits/ poppers. However it's also worth trolling diving bibbed lures, Rapalas/ Halcos etc while moving between spots and also having a live bait out while bottom fishing for other species. I caught a lot this way and not many others seemed to do it
