What's everyone's preference to trim braid. Mine always leave a frayed end even if I'm careful

I buy a new pair every now and then when they stop cutting properly.

Latest pair are the edge ones from Burnsco.

To 're sharpen ' braid scissors.
Cut a bit of 800 or 1200 sand paper.
Had the same 2 pairs scissors for over 10yrs now.
I just cut back near flush, then rub what s left of the tag so its soft and bit frayed.

I just use the Shimano 4” braid scissors. I watch for when their on sale and buy a couple of pairs (usually about $7 each).

I’m not very disciplined with “only cutting braid” with them so they last a few months.

I do find that the right amount of tension on the line helps with a clean cut. (Trial and error)

When rigging at home my FG and PR knots I will touch the tag end with a lighter pinching the wet knot between my fingernails to protect it from the heat.

I also use a thin layer of UV knot sense on the knots as it gives an extra layer of protection. (Probably overkill)

That being said I still sometimes have my Rizzuto knot occasionally unravel on my softbait set up. My leader is usually 2 to 3 m long so it goes through the guides every cast. The 3 or 4 overhead knots have never completely unraveled though.
