Managed to sneak out off spot T this morning. Pretty snotty conditions early. Fish were on at the change of light, then nothing. Ended up with 5, mostly on jigs or if on sb's, caught mid water.

Nice job Dale. I haven't been out since the papamoa comp. Ebop comp is on in a couple of weeks.

Nice. I have been snapper fishing for years and I don't recall too many mid water snaps. But I don''t have kayak either. Not that that matters I guess
Best gurnard fisherman in my street

Have had a few midwater snapper catches in the harbour in 16 or so metres on micro jigs. Also a gurnard just off the container wharf with very slow moving micro jig on the bottom.

I've had a few snaps take the softie near the surface in 20m over the years.
I haven't been out much but got out Anzac morning. Conditions were amazing. Most of my mates did well while I caught mostly undersized snapper. Ended up with a couple of pannies and a nice trev for a couple of delicious meals.
The ebop comp was on last weekend. I didn't go this year but Newbie won the Reload spot prize for the 2nd year in a row !

I often pick them up mid water. The schools, which I could see on the finder were mid water, so I changed tactics to target them there. Paid off a few times..

Nice Trev Andy. I've not caught one of those for ages. Come to think of it, I've not caught a KY for years, after always being plagued by them.

Went out Friday and couldn't catch any snapper but had a nice fight on my softbait setup on this 80cm Kingfish. Beautiful eating.

Piwi, back in TGA for the long term. Have buggered my elbow, ripped some tendons and in recovery - no paddling! But will catch up for a fish for sure - hopefully within a couple of months..
