Beaut conditions today but very slow fishing. Brought home 5 modest pannies after 4 hours. A couple of johndory caught by others and a couple of snaps of better size but overall very slow.

It's been a bit hard going lately Bernacle. I think it will start to fire now as the water warms up.
I got out today and fishing was fairly good and I binned out on 35 to 40cm snapper. Also a bonus johndory and a kahawai.
My mate Richard got a beaut 72cm snapper.

Nice piwikiwi, water temp juped by 1 degree from last week to the week before, I had 14.8 c. I guess when we pass 16 c will start having some good action! Did you stick around 23m mark?

No we were in about 15m. The big snapper was caught trolling a bibbed lure in about 10m.

That’s cool on a bibbed lure.
HY if you want to try that have a few little bibbed lures and will lend you one. We can do that. Be cool to catch one like that. I caught few towing micro jigs in shallows few years back round here when ran out of softbaits.

Shane must admit my mate wasn't expecting to catch a big snapper towing that lure. Apparently it was designed for kayak paddling speed and drops to 5m I think.

Really cool on bib lure, caught one a month ago like that, was quiet surprised. I had one that sink so you can control the depth. Only thing is the snap left some good bite marks on it! They normally more built for trout. Maybe plastic one is more appropriate.

I've never tried them before Bernacle but good to know. My mate said the lure was trashed after that one fish.

Good to know Lewy. Check facebook marketplace for yaks, there can be some bargains. I got a mate onto a Viking 400 recently for $750

Opportunity arose for a fish today so I snuck out off spot r.

Managed 5 clones all in the mid 30's range, felt like I was catching the same fish over and over again. Nothing to get excited about. All on jigs, nothing on the SB's. Plenty of sign, not that much action from the sign. Spent a while hooking and dropping what felt like good fish from some of the big patches of sign, no idea what fish species it was / is.

Good work Dale. I haven't been out for ages.
Too much surfing and not enough fishing

Yeah, when I rocked up I instantly thought I should have brought my surfboard. Wasn't that bad to time it though.

Hi guys, went out today after few month off (surf was better option), was super quiet, got just a good kahawai. Had a nice paddle with a pod of 50ish dolphins, so that was on the plus side.

Looking forward for tuesday, but not sure where to go..

Do you guys have a radio when going out? Will be nice to have a channel that can be shared among kayakers on pap beach, so can help a bit each other when out.
