Looks better for Wednesday actually, doesn't have the SE breeze.

Will head off Taylors, 5am launch.

Fun session with Gdog, Noponies and Newbie today. East drift then swest wind so a bit confusing. All scored a few pannies and Gdog and Newbie got a couple bigger models with Newbies a nice 6kg yak PB

One of mine had that white flesh and another was pretty skinny. Rest were all good, had not spawned yet.

White fleshed one was maybe a little bit stronger tasting. Still tasted good in beer batter though 🤤

This is my first post but have been following the forum a while. Picked up my first kayak (a PF400) a couple of months back and fish from the Mount when I am over here. Have done OK on softbaits but am wondering what the best setup is for fishing a second rod in a rod holder with Kabura type lure. The built in rod holders don’t set the rod up at a nice angle. Should I mount another rod holder behind/to the side of the seat so the kabura rod can be more horizontal and out of the way when also casting a soft bait?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Crag welcome the PF400 is a great yak.
I don't use Kaburas but those adjustable rod holders should do the job.

Merry Xmas guys.
I got a Penn Spinfisher VI 3500.
My first Penn. Looking at durability traded off on weight.

I'm looking at a fish sunday

Thanks for the welcome. I fish from the Mount, launch by Rabbit in white/black Viking. Will join you down Papamoa way for a fish one day when I eventually get roofracks.

Piwikiwi - I am just going to send you a PM to test it’s working as I am not sure I am doing it right. Could you let me know if you receive it?

Met up with Allpom, Daz, Cam, and Ruff and launched just after 5am. Bit of drizzle and distant lightning and wind was showing 17 knots west on Harbour conditions but wasnt too bad when we got there.

I under dressed in boardshorts and t shirt but it did fine up eventually.
Fishing was very slow for me. Ruff got things going with a nice 62cm snapper. He did well with snapper, Dory, KY, and Trevally.

I pretty much got skunked but brought a KY home. I did get 2 undersized Kingis, some throwback snapper, and a Dory that was just a bit small.
