I have seen some goodies on this thread but this one appeared on 360Tuna today. We somethime never see the fish when rods get bent out of shape and high sticked. The cause of the bend in this Synit Venom V450FT is shown in the last pic's.
At these angle a rod has lost any lift it may have had and is heart stopping for blank and rod designers to see... but it's why we do those deadlift tests on the blanks before we go into the field.
 
The Stella 20000SW was nearly spooled even with the drag set at max and well over the rods maximum rating. Not recommended but makes for some wicked visuals.

This is Tigerfish hanging onto a Jig Star Kojak 350 Acid.
End result was a 80kg Bass!  Heaviest documented Bass on jig and 2nd heaviest documented Bass ever caught in NZ.

Not the biggest bendo pic, but one for the books... 55 Kilo Yellowfin Tuna on a JSR 450 Spin and Stella 20K... about 15 seconds later I got SLAMMED against the gunnel at 14 kilos of drag as the fish decided to put her after burners when she was 5 metres from the boat....
 
JSR 450 performed flawlessly...

Capt Aspara the fish was ok. It put up one mad fight for little old Kelly. It was 15 kilo and fought harder than any 20 kilo fish i have seen. We just went out for a quick evening Jig and she was onto this within the first drift.
