Louie has been on my case re dropping levels of venison in the freezer, yesterday with a good forecast and favourable winds rekindled my fire after a wet and generally rubbish winter weather wise, a trip to the pines was in order.

Gentlemens hours for what was to be a look around to see if any animals were on the move, got down there 11ish and a little bit of sign was encouraging.

Left the scooter and hoofed it up to one of my hot spots as the wind was good for it and after re cutting a track thru those bl**dy blackberries, peeked thru to a tiny clearing and bingo 2 animals sunning themselves at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

The 223 flattened 1 the other just stood up unsure where the noise came from, I knew my hands were full with what I had so waved, yelled and number 2 eventually trotted off into the distance.

About an hour later was back were I could get the scooter close after cutting another track in those bl**dy blackberries, I swear they grow a metre a week and homeward bound.
Cheers
The only bar to frequent is the Kawhia Bar
