Went out again today off Browns Bay for a few hours, decent NE swell and about 12-15 knots. Wet ass, a few big ones rolled over the top but still great day out. Ended up with 3 pannies about 30-35cm and a Kahawai so wife happy enough, except the fact that I still smell like fish. What do women find so offputting about a nice fishy aroma?. Would be keen to know how you get on off Castor or Campbells Bay muppet, I haven't done either of those two. Go hard.

HALLELUJAH!Hug

I read this out as Mrs. Dwarf frequently makes similar comments.  Her reply? "Yes, it is off putting - It's because it's such a penetrating smell"

 - She still scoffs the fish happily enough thoughLOL

Went out off Campbells Bay this morning, unfortunately had a bit of a late night so didn't get on the water until about 9. I was softbaiting and did not get 1 single bite over a 2.5 hour period... Packed up and went home via the fish shop Cry...

This was the first time I had been kayak fishing in this area, I have fished off the rocks previously  at campbells bay (actually caught nothing then also) and people around me caught good fish so I know there are fish there.

How do you geezers find softbaitng off the kayak at the moment? I have been out 5 times over the last 4 weeks and caught one good sized snapper! My fishing buddy also uses softbaits but has had more luck and never gets skunked but I am starting to get disheartened and thinking about switching back to good old smelly bait!
