Anyone know if something is up with NACL Lures. I ordered 2 Lures from their website back in November. I normally fish OTL lures but thought I would give NACL a go. As of today nothing delivered, no update and no response to emails. Land Sea and Sky in Grey Lynn appear to have removed the remaining NACL lures from their shelves as well? 
NACL's social media accounts were still posting that new flats were available to order as late as December 28th last year.
No problem waiting for a decent hand made lure but something seems a bit fishy and not least terrible customer service if he cant be bothered emailing people back especially given the price he is charging.

Doesn’t sound good.
One would hope he’s been busy fishing and enjoying the holiday period.
Nacll definitely been a lot quieter on Social Media front though

Yeah man I ordered some 20gm flats lures in dec paid 280 bucks and have been messaging him on Instagram but haven't heard back at all. He's seen the messages though..

Same for me, ordered, paid and no contact whatsoever.....the money's gone somewhere and it's not in my account any more. Pretty frustrated.

I listened to a podcast with Peter Pakula recently. He said if a lure maker won't talk to you, don't buy their products. He also went on to say how people often bought completely inappropriate game fishing lures and should get advice first. I had a few queries, so contacted him. We had a live conversation and he couldn't have been more helpful. 10/10. Not very helpful to the OP, but there is a principle here.

Peter P has always been the same and I'm sure his business has benefited from his willingness to discuss and pass on his knowledge to those who are interested.

Hi Team

I know Hamish is really under the pump. I ordered a couple of lures in early 2023 and didn't get them for a while. A quick message to him and he confirmed he had received the order but was still going through back orders. He has since closed orders from my understanding to get through the back log.

Remember he is a small kiwi business going above and beyond. Give him a message on Instagram is my suggestion. You be stoked once you get the lures! They are amazing!

That post doesn’t really cut the mustard.

If your business is under the pump, you still acknowledge your customers, and inform each of those with outstanding orders of your situation. Even more important, you notify them as to when they will receive their orders. If they aren’t satisfied with your timing, you make a full refund. This is in the interest of your business if you want customers to remain faithful, or give references.

This is especially relevant if you are a “small Kiwi business”. The alternative is you no longer are a business.

yep well, I have since ordered the same thing from another supplier and it is on the way within 2 days, sadly have written off $120 which is not much but I tried fb, IG, email, and messenger. If he can’t reply to one of those in 6 weeks then possibly doesn’t deserve customers, can’t defend that I’m sorry. Business is business, no customers, no business. Real world.

Other NZ lure makers got action down pat.
