Hello!
Im in the market for a new kayak and wondering if anyone has any experience with the below-

“Canoe & Kayak Kai Waka”

https://canoeandkayak.co.nz/shop/kayaks/fishing-2/singles-fishing-2/canoe-kayak-kai-waka/

Couldn’t find any reviews online.

Planning on using it around the Waitamata, East Coast north of Auckland, and around the Coromandel. For fishing and bit of bay/island exploring.

Cheers

Not sure on that one but looks to be made by Perception kayaks which are good kayaks.
For the same money you could get a Viking Profish 400 which are very popular.

Have seen a few of them on the water, look ok, mate of mine had one for years, then upgraded to the viking reload. The brand name of it is on the back of the kayak

Also thought that was an older model that was updated from the 390 to the 420

Whichever brand you go for, you want length for speed, best over 4m + & width for stability
Do not rule out a 2nd hand top end brand that is fully kitted out

Is that just a Mission Catch 390 under a different name?

Mission 390 is fine kayak if you weighin around 90kg.
Otherwise would go slightly bigger. The Viking profish 400 is the best yak sea wise in its class but I happily prefer to paddle the 4.1 ocean kayak elite.
