When the National fishing championships are held distance casting is part of the completion. Seeing distances like this cast is out there. If the nationals are in your area go along, support and enjoy. i have 450mtrs on my egg beater.. so a 5oz should fly by a mile if i can :)

Went to Bethells awhile back and caught uo with some of the best casters in NZ, one of the guys cast a NZ Postal casting  record(NZ record) of 243 meters- pretty amazing to see- caught on video as well.
