Fished the Snappakura yesterday on the out going tide .
Unfortunately the bullet tuna baits I took out of the freezer were serving their second tour of duty and were quite soft as a result making them one hit wonders . 
Still , managed to keep four snapper for the smoker .
Biggest going 6.28kg

I went out from Weymouth on Tuesday. I fished from 8am till 4pm, all for 2 small kahawai and a giant mud marlin.

It was the toughest fishing mission of the year.

Heap’s of stingrays in the shallows. The conditions were fantastic.

Word from the street was to further out. Had a look on Wednesday out of the Manukau. Was slow going (for me anyway) but plenty of sign all around from 12 out to 30 and 40. But as you said... no sign of skippies or albies. Although I only went to 60-65 to have a troll around then back to chasing snapper. Probably a bit late for skippies and albies, very few skippies around his year. Really good snapper south of the Manukau in at 12m or so and also at 60m. Anywhere in between is working too but the fish tend to be smaller

We managed a quick trip out on the harbour this morning. Fish 45cm+ were on the bite straight away and we had more than enough for all our families in under an hour.
