Make no difference Ritchie, my vinyl is holding up VERY well, a few sinker and dings, but very small and easy to patch if necessary, had a lot of use as well, burley buckets dragged over it, fish, weed, crap leaned up against it in the garage.... paint?... why would ya?!!!

i wonder if having the pontoons wrapped would make the boat quieter at anchor? my F14 is not as stealthy as my 4.2 euro RIB with PVC tubes was at anchor, which was very quiet. maybe a stupid question.

Hey fellas I got a mate who has just started up business doing vinyl finish on cars boats etc. he's here in Auckland. He did his own truck & I was absolutely amazed at the finish & difference it made. PM me if you want his details.

Revilo, 

$900 does sound quite a bit for materials only. I would think if you shop around you could find someone to do the whole wrap for around a similar price applied. If the sides being wrapped are under 610mm high (half roll height.) It will work in your favour as there wont be much waste. Make sure they use cast films. These have the longest life, mould the best and have a uv/petrol/motor oil resistance.

Hey Guys,

Just thought Id jump in and ask for some advice on where I i can go for wrapping my boat. I wish to redo the side and graphics on the boat. The existing graphics have stained the gelcoat to the point of no return so look for a complete blackwrap and maybe a stonegaurd at the front for the anchor. I approached one place but was quoted $900 + cost for travel and labour. This seems excessive for a small 4.50m boat with a fairly shallow waterline - compared to the prices ive heard other people mentioning. Any advice really appreciated :)

Shouldn't be too much of a problem for an experienced signwriter. Make sure you talk to a sign company first before creating photoshop files, as we generally need certain file types to recreate the graphics, and the file type will be determined by the design you want. Eg, photographic images are fine with photoshop but not so for text or hard line stripes etc.
