    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=75508">scuzzymoto</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 91070<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22 May 2013 at 12:21pm<br /><br />Guys - the male section is a plug- the end will more than&nbsp;likely&nbsp;not be sealed- it will soak up mositure and swell if you coat the end of the plug with nail polish&nbsp;hardener&nbsp;or epoxy it will seal it- also the pencil does work - dont use sand paper on the carbon to easy the join, use vasaline and 1000 grit steel wool only or you will end up with flat spots on the plug which creates a weak point in the join -snap -crackle- pop]]>

I had a particularly stubborn T-Curve, and this worked instantly.</div><div><br></div><div><img src="uploads/48061/grooming_mitt.png" height="337" width="450" border="0" /><br><div><br></div><div>To stop it happening again, I ground some lead from a pencil into fine powder and sprinkled this on the male end of the join. I haven't had any more issues getting the bits apart. Other materials like wax from a candle can be a problem, because they form a vacuum seal between the two pieces.</div></div><div><br></div><div>Freezing is a good idea too.</div>]]>
