I have eaten 12 month old smoked marlin that was vacumed packed. Can anybody tell me how long the cold smoked and vacuun packed fish lasts in the fridge, once opened?

Does the smoking company put a due by date on the packaging?

Also. Can you freeze vacuum packed fish and how long for, without it losing its quality. I know that its best consumed ASAP once received/opened.
