The 77SJH is rated for 110g lures, the 74PG 130g.......it also has a softer action than the 74PG.
Mark i have fished both and the lure weights are different but not noticable BUT the 77sjh has more backbone and is rated PE5 whereas the 74pg is rated PE4 . Your probably right....it just sounds like a whole load is going outLOL.....I got a 22.5 kg King off the rocks with a 6500(only two thirds full of ugly mono)..That reel really screams when line is being pulled too...It helped, he took the piper at my feet but i reckon he went out about 40 metres and stayed around that region for most of the fight.....back and forth.Luckily for me,there wasnt much foul around.

I think alot of people over estimate how much line a fish actually takes in its initial runs,10's of meters not 100's of meters IMO.

I think my best fish on topwater gear Kings,GT's and YFT would have all taken 10m - 15m if they were lucky in any one run.

Have caught everything from sailfish, Tarpon, Roosters, amberjacks, Big snaps, mahi, YFT, various trevally's kings and more. running PE4 on a GTK...line capacity has never been an issue.
