It's nothing flash Just goes into vice so I can make them easy. The middle bolt is used at the end of the knot tying to bring the loop together to end with the 1/2 hitches. Also to attach scales to for destruction tests. The top two have a bit of tubing to stop any possibility of damaging the line.

The version I use, have since moved to a plat, would rate them as about the same difficulty to tie.

Use the rod for assisting with the knot, put the loop on the reel handle with the drag up, wind up to its tight then you will get better tension on the knot for the wrapping back.
