The middle bolt is used at the end of the knot tying to bring the loop together to end with the 1/2 hitches. Also to attach scales to for destruction tests. The top two have a bit of tubing to stop any possibility of damaging the line. <br>]]>

We do not use this knot on 80# or above and choose to use the plait or a chain knot or Bimini knot direct to the swivel, these knots hold better on the heavier lines.]]>
