Ive got a salt 80 caught kings live baiting of the rocks on the baz puka out by arid as well thrown a few poppers too no play in my handle. Its a penn fierce with a few upgrades but doesnt bother me does the job pretty heavy but wont break the bank i think its the cheapest of your options

If you don't want spend to much take a look at a Okuma Salina 2, may not be as could as the shimano but would be better than the pflueger. Not the Pflueger, I just don't believe they are designed for NZ conditions. Not the Salt, look OK but I had issues with the handle not being as solid as I would have liked. Just didn't feel right for poppering. Great surfcaster etc etc, just.... not poppering.

Looking for a reel for throwing poppers and BIG softies at Kings around the harbour channel markers and to use as a  LBG set up for snapper and kings at G.B.I.  Have pretty much decided on either a Salt 70/80 or a Sargosa 8000.  The Salt has more drag & line capacity at the expense of weight.

Thoughts??
