Hi ninja,
I am curious as to how many kms you would do for those prices. I do the same sort of traveling with motorway and residential traffic. I do around 45-50kms a day.

 Totally agree with the highlighted comments above.  I had the same model for a few years and while it was great to drive - especially on a long trip, the economy left a lot to be desired, because as you have said they do like to be caned.  For example, a full tank would get me from Takanini to Palmerston North (just) whereas the Holden Berlina 3.6 V6 etec I now have will get me to Palmy and back to Taupo no problems at all.

I just bought a 94 v6 petrol terrano auto as a hack to tow boat and work wagon etc.. goe,s great but definately a guzzler. just had it up on the hoists for service and is surprisingly clean no rust. only cost 3k, had new water pump and cam belt prior to purchase and also got lift kit at rear plus new chunky feet on it. Hey Lazybones, The biggest mod I've done in regards to fuel economy, is fitting Free Wheeling Hubs to the front. The cold air intake has done a little bit as well. I've got a 97 3.3l petrol terrano, and with a couple of mods, I'm getting about 300km to $80 of petrol, about 12-13litres per 100k's.. BUT that is mainly on the motorway, and it goes all up the cr*p when it comes to towing 2tonne of boat! However, after driving a 2.7 diesel, I wouldn't get one (and didn't) and the 3.2's are rare and rather expensive in relation to the petrol.. (I got mine for 3.5k, equivilant 3.2diesel over 6k)
