its a 7525, says it is rated up to 250g lures but it really struggles once they approach 200g, best with lures 1-150g

been using a stella sw10000 and the reel would not need to be any larger, also been using a stradic 8000 on it and this is a nice match for smaller gulf kingies

Thanks Sambosi, - if you could remember which one you ahd that would help - I think the 7525 might be too light for bigger kingies, but the 7708 might be too stiff for stickbaiting. i'm hoping to match it with a Daltiga Dogfight 6500. Cheers JJ

Guys,

I'm looking at getting an Xzoga Taka-Pi for stickbaiting and wonder if anybody has one, or has used a Taka-Pi 7708.

Is this rod suitable for working stickbaits or is it more of a popper rod?

Would the Taka Pi 7525 be a better option?

I want the rod for use in NZ - but able to handle the biggest Kingies - I have a lighter rod already.

Any advice would be welcomed
