Author: LEVCAT
Subject: 74141
Posted: 16 Jan 2012 at 8:38pm

I've got a torium 20 that i use for jigging with the 200gram rod. I use that off my kayak with 15k braid and 5-6 k of drag is more than enough - i really wouldn't want to go much more i reckon. Especially off a yak. If you match it up with pe3 or pe4 braid and chuck it on a 200g/300g rod it would be a great combo. The torium 30's one and only advantage over the 20 is that it has more line capacity, and really if you're spooling it with braid (even 50lb stuff) the 20 has more than enough capacity for any fish you're likely to catch off a yak or in the gulf. Also the 30 has a wider spool than the 20 which in my opinion does make it a bit harder to jig with.
