Cool video - not sure about the safety message - but then I wasn't born a pastor LOL. 

The part where they are fishing in wet suits out of the water - apparently there's this craze called skishing been around for a couple years - it's like an extreme form of surf casting. Probably not for the faint hearted...

Skishing is a variant on saltwater shorefishing that involves wearing a buoyant wetsuit and swimming out from shore with flippers to fish with rod and reel (typically a surfcasting rod), often using live eels. It is practiced as a means of getting further out to sea in order to increase the chances of catching a fish and can be dangerous.[1] The term skishing is a portmanteau of water-skiing and fishing because when hooked the stripers pull the angler through the water.[2] Skishing has been described as extreme surfcasting.[3]

One enthusiast of skishing believes that "hard core" surf casters aren't fond of the activity and consider it cheating.[4]

Skishing was the subject of an article in Forbes magazine.[5] The activity was invented by Paul Melnyk, a cabinet maker from Montauk, New York. Spot on bud.  Van Staal bailess reels.  Built solid as and plenty of drag in them... although a few guys using braid have lost their fingers putting the line back one when a fish strikes.

I don't know why you guys are seeing the down sides to the video, all I see is a few guys having fun and really enjoying what they do.

Great fish at the end, the rest seemed to be slick self-aggrandisement and a travelogue for the wealthy alpha male.

Thanks though Scuzzy, always interesting to see big fish from the shore. Striper are a beautiful fish, kind of like a kingi that jumps.
