Gotta say I agree with PoppinTonga - A better way to clip the lures would be to attach the lure from the rod on the left, to the loop/clip of the rod holder holding the rod on the right... and continue with the rod one the Right attaching to the next holder down to the right...
 
This keeps the lures hooks etc away from the EVA and reels etc.. this is how I rig mine now...

I'm like Stellajigger, I drop them in the side pockets of my boat, or drop them down unused rod holders. I just hook them up around the leader near the guide , don't like putting hooks on to guide arms or rings.For long distance travel i hook them into the carpet on the floor of my boat.
