Heres an update on my casting

I took my new set up for a practice cast on the beach with the wind-on leader, 3rd cast, got a wind not. Managed to untangle, a couple more casts, same result grrrr!! Went home and practiced an FG knot as had heard good things about them. Went out on the boat for a flick around and 1st cast, ping... the knot got caught on an eye and bye-bye lure. Back to the drawing board. Got the guys at my local store to re-do the wind-on leader as was prepared to give it another crack. Got out in the boat and did a couple of practice casts and no issues, out to my fishing spot...ping... another lure gone. Your right about the noise with the wind-ons, sounds really violent. Will have a try as you have suggested.

Cheers

Aaron

I have gone through most all the knots for connecting wind on leaders and all of them cause knots that catch the eyes when casted off the spool. This becomes a really big problem when you start tossing big lures. Have had more than a few eyes pulled from the bindings flat to the rod
