    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=72549">shaneg</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 68119<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 22 Jul 2011 at 11:13pm<br /><br />Nothing wrong with 24kg on 50s, especially in trailer boat fishing standup&nbsp;- you'll probably want 4 outfits &nbsp;if trolling lures solely, &nbsp;or combination of couple of 50s for when trolling lures and one 80/37&nbsp;kg&nbsp;for lures and as a dedicated livebait outfit.&nbsp; Can always have your snapper rod with skippy lure on out to catch a bait -still leaves 3 marlin lures in spread.&nbsp; Would equip boat with outriggers if trolling lures -not so important if mainly livebaiting. <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>If your going 50s - the tyrnos 50&nbsp;and tld 50s are good&nbsp;for 24 kg -just make sure you clear gear quick and get after your fish.&nbsp; A&nbsp;tiagra 50W will give you bit more capacity -but cost more.&nbsp;&nbsp; Tiagra 80s are best way to go for 37kg in terms of performance and resale.&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Penns and Okuma Makiras, Aletecnos all good too, if you can get them at reasonable price.&nbsp; Had Penns and Okuma but sold em -just cause I like Shimano best.&nbsp;&nbsp; Have never had any real&nbsp;issues with Shimanos-and use em extensively -TLD50s, Tynos, tiagra 50 and 80s.&nbsp;&nbsp; They all work pretty good and its &nbsp;usually the angler and skipper that makes difference not the size of reel.</DIV><DIV>Few well proven lures and a live bait trace, some gloves and a&nbsp;decent gaff and your&nbsp;away.</DIV><DIV>Always will be more fun catching marlin from own boat than a charter.&nbsp;</DIV>]]>

Couldnt have done it if it wasnt for good basta rds off this forum.</p><p>Ask lots of questions and keep your ears open.</p><p><br></p>]]>
