I have used it some times now but I don't use it anymore.. (afraid of the dark watersLOL)

I'll sell it to you for @130.. There is no batteries in it atm.. You can come and try it first in the evening if you want.. it uses 8xC batteries and have a life of 12 hours or 20 depending what setting you use..

If you can hunt down any of the Barbolight torches, you will be onto a winner for many years to come.
I have pretty much one of each model, and they are indestructible. One of the few torch manufacturers that will actually back up their 200M rating.
The LED 900 lumen version has a very pronounced pencil beam for good penetration in the murk, while still having enough spill to do away with the tunnel vision.
Good options for running with a cannister as well.

Ive got a shorty Intova LED.
It is widebeam, making it top notch for a crayhunt.
Its got 3 settings, Strobe, bright and dull.
Bright scares the bejeezuz out of crays and fires them straight back into their hole so i vary rarely use anything but dull.
 
Round about the $140 mark (i had it given to me) but cant speak more highly of it Big smile

Yep, seems the Metalsubs are the way to go!
Not sure about the HID's though, seems the LED torches are more advantageous. Better batterylife, can use them out of water, and more than bright enough!

We have brought in a bunch of the Metalsub product mainly for the Navy and the the Police and it is fantastic product that is really well made and backed up.

Handheld torches, go new gen. HID only.  Pretty good battery life, better sealing and they are pretty compact now, the days of bulky Ikelites are pretty much over.
 
Cable torches, specialist items only IMO now.  The cable is a weak point, prone to leakage and getting tangled in stuff.
 
There is such a big variety of torches it's hard to say 'buy x and not y' as y might suit you better than x does me.  Best to go track some down 'in the wild' and try them out and make up your own mind on the subject!

Currently in the market for a quality dive torch, suitable for night diving in poor vis!
Have been looking at the Metalsub torches, both handheld and cable torches.
